Register now for the CITL Winter Workshop 2020

The Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning (CITL) is hosting a day-long workshop on Thursday, January 9th, 2020.  Coffee, tea, and lunch will be provided.

The workshop will have sessions on a wide variety of pedagogical and instructional technology topics, including: Course Design, Inclusive Teaching, Serious Gaming, Course Site new features and best practice Q&A, implementing multimedia assignments and data projects, AR/VR, essential educational technology tools, and much more.

This is a great opportunity to discuss teaching with colleagues and CITL staff, learn more about key instructional tools and approaches, and  'warm up' your teaching skills for the spring semester. We will also be offering tours of innovative spaces at the end of the day. Please see the schedule of sessions below as well as descriptions of each session and what you can expect to do and learn.

Start-of-semester CITL sessions

Start your semester a step ahead! The CITL is offering a few brief refresher sessions and tours of spaces Thursday morning, August 21st. The first two sessions are hyrbid sessions offering both in-person and remote attendance via Zoom.

Hybrid Information Sessions

Course Site: Basics - Introducing Lehigh’s LMS (Course Site)

This session will discuss how to request a Course Site and set up your course, by adding content, assignments, discussion boards, grade book, adding roles, etc.

Semester Kick-Off: Five Essential Tools for Content, Collaboration, and Communication

This session will introduce Lehigh’s LMS (Course Site - discussion board, choice, quizzes), and several tools such as Panopto, Zoom , Google Assignments, or Turnitin, that help faculty to meet their pedagogical goals.

Tours of Spaces

Tours of classrooms and makerspaces.  We will have our CITL staff available to give tours and answer questions about classrooms as well as makerspaces available around campus.

The workshop will have sessions on a wide variety of pedagogical and instructional technology topics, including: Course Design, The Art of Lecturing, Active Learning Approaches, Designing Effective Writing and Research Assignments, Online Learning, Course Site assignment boot camp, drones and AR/VR, and much more.

This is a great opportunity to learn more about key Course Site features, discuss teaching with colleagues and CITL staff, and to warm up your teaching skills for the spring semester. We will also be offering tours of innovative spaces throughout the day.

New Faculty Orientation 2018

The CITL is hosting new faculty orientation in the CITL Commons in the EWFM library on Monday and Tuesday, August 20-21, 2018. Download the Schedule

Wednesday will also feature a CITL open house including opportunities to visit our new/updated learning spaces, get a crash course/refresher on Course Site, tour the Vizualization Lab and One-button Studio, and a peak at LUapps - a new solution for running apps virtually on-demand from anywhere.

The workshop will have sessions on a wide variety of pedagogical and instructional technology topics, including: Course Design, The Art of Lecturing, Active Learning Approaches, Designing Effective Writing and Research Assignments, Online Learning, Course Site topics (assignments, quizzes, and grade book), Creating Instructional Videos, Instructional Uses of WordPress, and Virtual Reality in Education.

This is a great opportunity to learn about the new Course Site upgrade, discuss teaching with colleagues and CITL staff, and to warm up your teaching skills for the spring semester. Our new Visualization lab will be open for tours and demonstrations, as well as our data center.
